In Harlem there are many people who have succeded . Among them , there is Marcus Samuelson who came from Ethiopia and who was a chef of the gourmet restaurant Aquavit in New York at the age of 24 . Six years later , he opened his own restaurant , the Red Rooster in Harlem following the attacks 9/11 because he wanted to help his city. Then he participated in cooking  shows . Later President Obama asked him to cook for his first state dinner.

Kibonen is a stylist who became famous  for her traditional African-style clothes . She is from Cameroon and moved to Harlem where she opened a small clothing store. Then she became famous thanks to her brand. She designs clothes with toghu, the traditional African fabric.
